Tai Chi and Qi Gong

Our Tai Chi and Qi Gong program is available for students aged 13 and above.

Tai Chi is a slow moving gentle exercise suitable for people of all ages.

We teach a traditional Yang Style Tai Chi for beginners and for those who want to learn more of the martial arts side of Tai Chi we also teach the Zhaobao He Tai Chi Chuan style.

Zhaobao He Tai Chi is one of the oldest and original styles of Tai Chi that has been kept only within the Zhaobao village and the “He” family members for many generations. The style eventually spread to Xi’an and Hong Kong and eventually to Australia! It is typically not very well known however it has been a central part of Tai Chi history, in fact it is said that Master Yang (of Yang Tai Chi – the most popular style of Tai Chi today) first learnt Tai Chi in the famous Chen Village, however he then mastered Tai Chi in Zhaobao village.

Qi Gong literally means “energy cultivation”.

Qi Gong forms and exercises involve various relaxed movements and stretching techniques combined with the breath and meditative techniques.

Qi Gong is used to help promote the Qi or energy flow throughout the body improving your overall health and well being.

The Tai Chi and Qi Gong class typically begins with various warm ups including joint exercises and stretching, followed by some Qi Gong practice and then the Tai Chi form practice.
